our story

The Logo
We nicknamed it the “knot”. The artwork for our logo is taken from an original “untitled” etching we own by friend and Bay Area artist, Yasuhiro Esaki. The piece is from a series of works that Esaki created while researching human DNA and the nervous system. Born in Japan, Esaki emigrated to California in 1969, where he studied and taught at Academy of Art College, San Francisco until 1992.

Our Philosophy
Our first objective in crafting the wines for Peirson Meyer has been to first seek out unique vineyards; sites that have the potential to capture and express the myriad attributes that come together at special locations to produce wines of exceptional character. With these vineyards producing grapes that reflect their rocky soils, marine influence, or hilltop exposure we are given the opportunity to ensure that all the fruit has to offer finds its way to the glass. Through traditional artisan techniques, we guide the fruit through vinification in an effort to allow the wine to fully express its given character. Whether it is fermentation temperature, skin contact, press selection, or barrel aging, we are dedicated to preserving the inherent attributes of the vineyard and varietal.
