Peirson Meyer Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

- The Wine Advocate, Antonio Galloni

2008 Peirson Meyer Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is a dark, sensual wine layered with plums, black cherries, smoke, licorice and tar. Striking finesse and purity from start to finish are some of the qualities that stand out most. Sweet, floral notes add brightness on the finish. Lower yields and longer hang time contribute to the exceptional elegance of the tannins. This is one of the gems of a vintage many people have overlooked. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023. -93 pts.

- Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate

2007 Peirson Meyer Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a vineyard on Pritchard Hill that was acquired by Tim Mondavi (it's the backbone for his brilliant Continuum offerings). A deep ruby/purple color is followed by notes of blueberries, blackberries, licorice, vanilla and spring flowers. The wine possesses a gorgeous texture, admirable opulence and a layered, full-bodied mouthfeel. This sensational, seductive Cabernet Sauvignon is already delicious and should evolve for 15 or more years. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered after spending 20 months in French oak, of which 70% was new. -94 pts.
