If the 2007 vintage was amazing, the 2008 is only better. Everything the 2007 had to offer is present, yet more refined and more greatly concentrated in the 2008. The aromas show intense classic Napa Valley character with ripe blackberry, currant and anise complemented with rich components of vanilla and chocolate; bright notes of fresh cut flowers, lavender, and anise add intrigue. This wine has a wonderful silky, elegant entry that gives way to a fully structured, weighty mid palate revealing its Pritchard Hill origin. A luscious finish completes this wine that is great in its youth, but promises much for the future.
The Wine Advocate - Antonio Galloni ...The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is a dark, sensual wine layered with plums, black cherries, smoke, licorice and tar. Striking finesse and purity from start to finish are some of the qualities that stand out most. Sweet, floral notes add brightness on the finish. Lower yields and longer hang time contribute to the exceptional elegance of the tannins. This is one of the gems of a vintage many people have overlooked. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023. -93 pts.
